Here is some interesting information that helps us understand part of where the money comes from to support the groups that work so hard on pushing policies that limit private property rights.  It’s irritating to realize that we not only pay for the government attorneys in these cases, as well as the judges who hear the cases and the buildings the proceedings are held in, but that when these NGOs win against our interests, we pay their lawyers, too.

Subj: MUST READ - Environmental Litigation and Attorneys Fees

Dear Alliance Board Members and Advisors:

The following memos – prepared by the Budd-Falen Law Offices in Cheyenne (WYOMING) provides an eye-opening assessment of the amount of litigation filed by environmental organizations and the amount of attorneys fees these groups have received from the federal government for these cases. I am sure that you will be as shocked by these numbers as I was.

I talked to the author of these documents - Karen Budd Falen this afternoon - and she encouraged me (and I encourage you) to share these documents widely. Our policy-makers  and the public need to be made aware of the billions of dollars in fees alone this is costing our country.

This should also be used as a wake-up call for those who think the Clean Water Restoration Act will not open the door for countless related “settlements” advanced by activists groups using the Clean Water Act citizen suit provisions.

Best regards-
